I think you need to read it again.

If anything this news more or less guarantees he is in it in 2019.

Yes just read post in other thread. Doing the Taylor model of a glory year so that guarantees Sky will pick him for PL as they will hype as his farewell tour on PL.

Yeah, I think Barney just secured a spot in the PL. This also helps: with the two events in Rotterdam.

Nah, apparently he's not needed in the PL as tickets will sell anyway... ;-)

He isnt needed in it, the vast majority of tickets have already been sold without a single member of the line up being confirmed.

Only reason he will be in it now is as a "goodbye" thing.

PDC will have quite some trouble choosing if Gurney performs okayish, like Quarter finals at Players Champs or fourth round at World Champs and stays number 5 of the world.

True it would be harsh as he’s the number 5 but he’s not played well this year and doesn’t exactly entertain...

Unless Whitlock has a good last 2 tournaments, or someone comes out of the pack by winning the Players Championship Finals or getting to the WC Final, I agree with that 10.

Whitlock over Gurney much more deserving given the TV tournement this year.
I agree that Simon is much more deserving, but as things stand with Gurney 5th in OOM, he will get a place.

Gurney is fine, good players championship finals. Considering the last months Barney really shouldn't be in but he retires, so I guess either Wade or Whitlock is out.

Got a feeling Suljovic could be the one to miss out.. others are in better form.. plus he pulled out of players, I get the impression he likes to be at home with the family.

He hasn’t really done enough to get in really despite what some think - he’s had a poor 2nd half of this year.

If we have a winner tonight other than MvG or Gando would they get in the PL?? Wade winning the two events surely will be there given they were the Euro and World Series, two events the PDC have pride in with their expansion, etc...

Has a PDC major winner ever missed out on a PL place??
