PDC Asian Tour 2019

Post by The Jolly Man » Mon Dec 03, 2018 1:12 pm

THE dates and venues for the 2019 PDC Asian Tour have been confirmed, with 12 tournaments to be held in next year's $120,000USD circuit.

The PDC Asian Tour was introduced in 2018 to great success as players from across the region competed across six weekends.

Eventual Order of Merit winner Lourence Ilagan won four tournaments during the year to top the rankings, ahead of Seigo Asada, Royden Lam and Noel Malicdem.

Malicdem also landed a nine-dart finish during the year, while that quartet - along with Sinapore's Paul Lim - will all compete later in December at the William Hill World Darts Championship.

The 2019 Asian Tour will begin on January 26-27 in Seoul, with the first of six double-header weekends as players compete in tournaments worth $10,000USD per event.

Further weekends will be held in Kobe, Tacloban, Taipei and Hong Kong, with details of the final weekend of the year being finalised.

The Macau event seems to have been moved to Hong Kong. Malaysia is the missing host so far

Final figure if 174 for the events

Add this to the 120 signed up for event on the DPA circuit this weekend and things look healthy as you travel round the world.

Paul Lim also through a 5-4 win in Avery high quality game his opponent missed darts for the match including d18 for a 150 checkout his opponent also hit a 10 dart leg to make it 4-4.

Lots of good quality on the Asian tour the PDC is idiotic if they don’t have a World Series even their should be at least 2 their really if not 3.

Malicdem Wins with a ton+ average. Think he really is someone who if he ever decided too do q school and make a go of the tour would end up being a real danger on the tour. Magnificent player.

Most of the big names from this tour last year through to the last 16. Mikuru Suzuki also through.

Paul Lim playing very solid today looks like it will take a good performance to beat him to the title.

Kevin Leung takes out Malicdem with a 96 average. He like Lim has been very impressive today.

Excellent final. Lam wins it 5-4 despite a 105 average from Lim.

Great standard - this deserves a higher prize fund (as does the CT FWIW).

Suzuki beats Harith Lim 5-4 she hit a 13 darter in the final leg to win it.

Royden Lam is struggling in the last 128 but still looks likely to scrape through. The draw looks kind for Paul Lim to have another deep run today he shouldn’t really be troubled until the last 8.

There is a lot of talent in Asia but it's very top-heavy at the moment. Maybe the prizes for the latter stages could be more, but that would create even more of an all of nothing situation so I'd say it's fine for now
