Has it taken 6 years to work that out :)
6 years ago people were saying the BDO was shite but those days seem like great days in comparison!

I suppose it was Barney going that started the big slide.. Back when they had Lakeside and the Winmau on BBC.. They had the IDL and WDT in Holland.. They had deeper fields than the PDC..its been downhill every year since Barney went.. and this year just feels like the worst of the lot
Dave Parletti the top Englishman in the system. Let that sink in.
Puts all this into perspective fek me he is shit

His initial decision that meant players could go to QS without any problems killed the BDO. The best ones left and got cards and guys like Waites and Williams lost value to sponsors as they became QS failures.
Hard to see why anyone would now want to put up money to sponsor what they have left.

If ranking points were based on dodgy GoFundMe pounds Parletti would be #1 by a mile.

That's a good point, I'd momentarily forgotten that.
Do we know if Sportotal sorted that venue out last time?
This is the thing...surely they didnt. They never mentioned it on their website and it was round the corner from Sue's house, so why are they suddenly having to sort it now?

Unless Sue sorting that out herself was one of the 27 "breaches".

Memo Arts Centre was named 44 days before the event (tickets went on sale 2 days later). I believe we are now at 50 days before the 2019 version?
I'd always assumed that venue was the result of Sue going rogue and bypassing Sportotal given how local it was to her, but seeing as no-one ever actually owned up to it, I wasn't sure.

If that is one of the 27 breaches, I'd love to have a look at that contract. Sportotal were contractually obliged to find the venue, they didn't bother so Sue sorted it herself at the last minute, and she's the one in breach.
Only she could have signed up to something like that.
Sue found out they could get the venue for free as it was part of a council project to get local events there, so I imagine she told sportotal and they got it done
But if this is true why can’t Des do the same. He already had a long list of potential venues and sponsors.
Why cant he get barry for free? because he closed the Taffs well Office

Why cant he get venues and sponsors? youd have to ask him that, he had tons lined up........

I presume for the last one at the free place they promised 100s of eager thirsty fans coming along for each session now the venue knows they are only likely to sell 2 cans a pop a day they are probably slightly less than eager to return a phonecall as they would actually save money by being closed then rather than hosting a Des Vanity project this time.

He has got venues and sponsors the only problem is they are either Turkish , Spanish or need to be a beagle to appreciate them ;)

49 days to go....just another 5 days before they match the notice they gave about the event being at the Welsh cinema.

Of course he will, I'm merely reminding people they have a deal with Sportotal to arrange such matters.

...which he can do from a sunbed in Spain if needed. He isnt the one conducting negotiations for venue/sponsor, he contractually isnt able to.

Point is, him going off on holiday for 4 weeks is irrelevant to whether this sinks or swims.
