Well done to all winners this weekend.

Brian Dawson coming from nowhere to win a title for the 1st time is a good achievement

No no no no DBG has said elsewhere that he thinks he has won one before, so he must be right.

I don't like his on-stage antics, but by god the kid can really play. Capable of getting close to Lakeside qualification if he does play enough events.
Two reasons generally why children are home schooled:

- the parents are hippies
- the child is a little shit who has more than likely already been booted out the mainstream school system

Hmm i wonder which one of the two this one is likely to be? A proper puzzler.
Having seen the video of the father's behaviour at the presentation of the Open that he won, he didn't strike me as a hippy, or a teacher for that matter.
They could also be some sort of christian fundamentalists, way more often a reason for home schooling than "being hippies".

edit: ofc unlikely that such people would try to make a living off a pub game, though.

I'm delighted for Doggie Dawson. I stuck a 375 quid each way bet on him to win. The best thing about it was I was halfway through doing a 9 darter when I got my phone put and placed the bet. Then I completed the 9 darter like a boss. True story.
