Paula Jacklin number 1 shows how screwed the whole BDO ranking system is...regardless of what part of the year it is.

Jacklin rated number one :DDD:
“Deluxe have put together a seriously good team behind this , who are used to events at the very top of British and international sports.
They are certainly not muppets and must truly believe the BDO is marketable”

What's the point? The BDO will be bankrupt by then.

Christ almighty, what a joke. The only consolation for fans of sanity is that the BDO might not exist for Jacklin to be #1...

Good work. How on earth is Warburton ranked #1? He didn't even play at the O2. Stainton shouldn't be #2 after his showing either. They need to put more weight on major tournaments, so you don't get the likes of Bo at #3.

They do put weight on the major tournaments - if you get to the semis in the Worlds you automatically qualify for next year, and if you win the World Masters the same applies. The solution is to make the tour more worthwhile for the top players, not less.

And given the uncertainty, Warburton might be one of the best players left!

Maybe. I'm just wondering how "Shrub Rocketeer" Stainton and Bo Selecta can be ranked so high after their world championship showings. If I were cynical, I'd suggest there must be some special "Lincolnshire points" on offer because every time I've seen Jacklin play, she's been shite.

Unlike virtually everybody else, Jacklin's able to play in every tournament around Europe so she ends up in tournaments where few or none of the top players go, and the many other players better than her don't go either. She's still better than the local players, and it gets her points.

Jacklin's top 12 tournaments are all from outside the UK. In the UK she almost always loses the first match she plays.

Ah I see. The kind of ranking system that saw Colin Lloyd reach world #1 despite Taylor thrashing him every time they played.
