Gary Robson playing bedroom darts on a mobile. 100% sure this will be legit.

So it took the BDO effectively going bust for a BDO Premier League to finally happen. What crazy times we live in.

Also read that after a few days break a new tournament will start in May.

Be a brave bookie to price those up.

Guy behind it has long history with bookies.
Re: Remote Darts League (RDL) for WDF 18-27 April
Why would the bookies need to be more brave with this, than the PDC tournie? Taking the opening post at face value, theres prize money in this, so I am assuming there is immediately more incentive to win.

Cant read too much into the prize money aspect. How much money was Gary Robson playing for that time he played Gary Anderson?Rout wrote:Why would the bookies need to be more brave with this, than the PDC tournie? Can easily make more getting a few bets on, especially given I cant imagine they are playing for huge sums here. Barney knew that last night....

All 10 of them are journeymen, unregulated by any organisation, most of which may never be on telly ever again with the BDO about to go tits up and therefore have nothing to lose by fixing a game or two and banking some decent cash. No different to Barney last night.Rout wrote:Fair points but none of them really answer my questionGinge wrote:Cant read too much into the prize money aspect. Lets not pretend match fixing doesnt happen, Routy. I suspect the PDC lot will be at it over the next 32 days although they cant make it as blatant as Barney did last night, was absurd.

It's not like they are just going to quit darts if and when the BDO collapses though are they? Many still have a long career ahead and many will undoubtedly end up playing PDC darts, if they havent or don't already.Ginge wrote:All 10 of them are journeymen, unregulated by any organisation, most of which may never be on telly ever again with the BDO about to go tits up and therefore have nothing to lose by fixing a game or two and banking some decent cash. If they were to be seen to be match fixing in this, it could damage their reputations, jeopardise current or future sponsorship and perhaps even jeopardise future PDC status if the bookies did price it up and got stung hard enough, as it would potentially hit the news. So they have plenty to lose.
The only difference is the DRA really. But in terms of how likely it is to happen, I dont think you can make a big distinction at this stage.

If the Barney one doesnt hit the news (which it hasnt so far as far as I know), a bunch of washed up players (and Jim Williams) potentially fixing one or two games wont make a ripple.
In any case, if no bookie touches these games then the whole conversation is moot.
