Bloody Guardian readers.

The 28th was after the 12 days.....

Parliamentary recess is not an automatic holiday for all MPs. It just means they arent sitting in parliament. Many MPs will have been working in their constituency and one would hope the guy running the country would have been focussing on an emerging disaster rather than on his 2nd break in the space of 6 weeks.

Regarding your criticism of the media, it works both ways. Did it bother you when Corbyn was being labelled as a terrorist sympathiser or anti semite, completely without foundation, by most billionaire owned outlets in the election or brexit vote run up in order to influence the democratic process?

Boris now articulating during PMQ, stay at home if you can, go to work if you must.

Already backtracking from his statement of yesterday, which was that people who couldn't work from home, should be actively encouraged to return to work.

Bloody hell it couldn't be clearer.

Go out. But don't go out if you dont really need to. By "mean to" they mean "want to".
Go to work. But only if you have to.
Dont use public transport. Unless you have to of course. To get to where you are going, like work.
Exercise more than once. But only if you have to. Fishing and tennis are okay but no cricket.
Spend time with others. But only if its your immediate family. But only one at a time.

And wear a face covering. Which is not the same as a face mask. Cos face masks are still in short supply for the NHS.

I dont know what the fuss is about. The great British public had absolutely no problem understanding the previous set of rules so a lot more ambiguity shouldn't cause any confusion whatsoever.

"14 January 2020

WHO's technical lead for the response noted in a press briefing there may have been limited human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus (in the 41 confirmed cases), mainly through family members, and that there was a risk of a possible wider outbreak. The lead also said that human-to-human transmission would not be surprising given our experience with SARS, MERS and other respiratory pathogens."
Their tweet said Chinese authorities preliminary investigations indicated what you infer, the WHO didn't say it. Read the tweet correctly next time Image

They didn't say it? They tweeted it around the world with their #coronavirus tag.
They then denied it, no mention of it on their timeline.

Poor effort col, very poor.

Doesn't read the Guardian folks, no siree.

I seem to remember these were in January and the early part of February during which time the World Health Organisation was still saying that there was no evidence to human to human transmission of covid19 - in fact I think it was January 29th before they warned that it was a danger.

Direct quote from the WHO on the 11th January

"The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow)."

The WHO were warning of the risk of Covid from early January. They didnt declare a global pandemic until the 30th January.

So yes you were indeed talking bollocks about the human to human stuff.

Yeah, yeah I had a bit of spare time on my hands, but don't we all

From the 13th January - But no they were saying there is no evidence of human to human infection.

There are dozens more just like that one, but I will leave it there for now.

A few snippets from the WHO reports timeline:

They've done a great job, even on Feb 28th they are still claiming that it does not transmit through the air. ImageImageImageImage
