not the first time VAR has completely fucked over the hammers not just for goals but sendings off, even if they were rescinded afterwards, which is hardly justice.

As you say, he cleared the ball, where was his leg to go after that ?
He was sent off solely cos it "looked bad" there was no malice or intention. It will probably be overturned but what good is that now
