Unless he is already in the country, or fancies spending 10 days in another country first, its safe to say Charles Losper wont be taking the South African spot up.

Those 10 days also need to be outside Europe not just U.K.

Well yes, his options are started to get limited there.

Apparently the bloke who lost to Losper in the final is UK based.

Do the rules say it passes down that route or via another ? Next on Pro Tour list or do they need to playoff for a standby player at the qualifier tomorrow ?

Not sure, would just be an easy way to solve it and ensure there is still a Saffer in the field.

They’ll just put Fallon in twice.

https://www.pdc.tv/pdc-order-merit-rules:
(My bolding)

3.6 If a player withdraws from a Premier Event due to personal or disciplinary reasons before the draw for the Event has been announced by the PDC, the next highest available non-qualified player from the Order of Merit (or if required in the case of the World Championship, the qualifying route) through which the unavailable player qualified will be invited to participate in the Event. In this instance, the players ranked below the unavailable player will all move up one place in the seedings, where appropriate.

3.7 If a player withdraws from a Premier Event due to personal or disciplinary reasons after the draw for the Event has been made, the next available non-qualified player from the relevant Order of Merit through which the withdrawn player qualified will be invited to participate in the Event and will take the place of the withdrawn player directly in the draw with no alteration made to seedings if applicable (or at the World Championship, the replacement player will come from a reserve list from the PDPA World Championship qualifier where final round (and then if required, each earlier round in turn) losers will be ranked in Order of Merit position as of the day of the PDPA World Championship qualifier). This does not apply to the UK Open where no replacement player shall be named.

For example, last year Viljanen was unable to attend due to a health problem, so his place went to the next non-qualified player on the Nordic & Baltic Tour. Labanauskas was already qualified through the Pro Tour, so Kantele took Viljanen's place. But that may have been before the draw was made.

So, I read it that if Losper continues to try to make it after the draw (I presume he will have an Elite Sports exemption that would allow entry to the UK) but fails to make it:
- if he gives up before the start of the event, South African losers could be invited
- if he gives up after the start of the event, a PDPA reserve would be invited.

There are no exemptions to the red list, sports people still have to do the 10 days quarantine.

He is on Sky's standby commentary list if Devon doesn't make it.
