Same weekend as the UKDA Magic weekend. Which is a shame as it will affect both

England Open money will have been cut because they lost the Bunn's Selsey sponsorhip. (The caravan park was bought by a vulture capital company.)
Re: WDF Scottish Open (April 22nd-24th)
Nice to see the England Open money following the published rules.

They wont be allowed to have it top heavy anymore, without special permission.

Or a sponsored bonus.
Re: WDF Scottish Open (April 22nd-24th)
That likely needed special permission too tbh, Ashdown hinted it had been in a Tweet he sent, after all its still part of the payout.

The last time they played in 2020, Williams threw near a ton and beat Hine. Greaves beat Sherrock with both averaging in the low 80s. (Sherrock later beat Greaves at the Isle of Man before Covid ended the Sherrock and Greaves Show). There wrote:This year’s event will kick off on the Friday night with the traditional ice-breaker tournament, the Mixed Triples, followed by two sessions of Singles play on the Saturday and finishing on the Sunday with the Open Doubles competitions. The Mens winner will take away £3000 while the Ladies champion wins £1500 and of course valuable ranking points can be accrued to take into the Ranking Tables. The current champions are Jim Williams from Wales and England’s Beau Greaves. Winning duo in the mens pairs were Scottish duo Cameron Menzies & Ryan Hogarth, the first time an all-Scottish pair had won the title while the ladies champions were Deta Hedman and Beau Greaves, who successfully defended their 2019 title, also giving Deta three in a row.

Re: WDF Scottish Open (April 22nd-24th)
Probably also balked at paying the £2500 fee for a gold event twice in a year - the England Classic has been designated a gold event already.1205 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 11:22 amhttp://www.sdadarts.com/index.php

Re: WDF Scottish Open (April 22nd-24th)
Aye thats an absurd fee, given the winner of the event is likely to qualify for the next Worlds anyway even without the guaranteed spot (just like they all did in the last cycle - none of them were anywhere near the cutoff)
