Re: Lakeside 2023
At least we have it confirmed at Lakeside now. Any guesses for when in the calendar though?
Re: Lakeside 2023
Does it really matter?
It’s going to be a pile of steaming shite looking at the qualification lists.

I know the quality has declined but it's still darts at the end of the day. Some decent players will have qualified towards the top. It needs to be scheduled/advertised much better though. Wonder if the PDC will allow Q School card winners to go for Lakeside this time?

Also no mention of TV or Eurosport there.
Re: Lakeside 2023
They should have no issue as Fallon has not qualified so they won't care.IndyCarDavid wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 10:17 amI know the quality has declined but it's still darts at the end of the day. Re: Lakeside 2023
The good news is it won't clash with the Seniors at the Circus Tavern as originally thought - and hopefully they look at the calendars for both the Seniors and the PDC (primarily the Women's Series dates) so they don't clash with any of their other events.
It also clears the way for any of the WDF contingent to try their hand at Q School in January if they were thinking about it as that won't clash either.
As for when they will choose - my guess will be early April same as this years event.

I'm really not sure April would work as a permanent date. But if that's all Lakeside is offering...

I think it will be April next year and with Lakeside secure 2024 will return to January

Think it needs to be in January to take advantage of momentum of the PDC championship. Being elsewhere on the calendar it will be a struggle for coverage.

It will make no difference whatsoever when they hold it in the year

Re: Lakeside 2023
There’s a number of reasons why they are declining.
Date of the tournament is not one of them

Re: Lakeside 2023
Agreed but it doesn't help. Hard to see what the WDF can do to improve fortunes or if it's just a terminal decline or things just get worse until everyone forgets about it.
Re: Lakeside 2023
They should showhorn some women into the men's draw. That'll shift some tickets.

Re: Lakeside 2023
I can’t remember and can’t be arsed to look, we’re the tickets for this more expensive than the PDC ones?

Re: Lakeside 2023
Think some sessions of this year's WDF championship were even more than the corresponding PDC sessions. Or at least it felt like that. Really overpriced themselves.

Re: Lakeside 2023
Given that the PDC has said that it will not allow tour card holders to play in this, I wonder how many qualifiers they will lose?

Which would make better sense to have the Qualifiers after Q School
