(Maybe they'll have a "European Tour" event in Queensland with a bit of extra money to cover the expenses.)

Overall an OK calendar shift, I think, even if I don't like them going to Bahrain. At least it makes the calendar less crowded.

With the first two World Series events not long after the World's it might be a bit too soon. Good to have some kind of darts on with Lakeside not happening in January and before the Masters too.

To be fair them, it makes sense to leave a place open. If someone not already invited wins the Worlds, the PDC are obviously going to want them in the World Series.
