Re: Fallon Sherrock given a World Championship Spot
Seriously though, no issue with them giving a spot to the winner of that tournament, but they’ve obviously only done it retrospectively to get Fallon in.
Rule 1.1 is hardly new in the PDC.

Re: Fallon Sherrock given a World Championship Spot
An expensive pick, having just cost the PDC 120,000 pounds to distract from it.
But great news for Beau Greaves to be able to earn almost 70 grand next year.
Surprised, but not entirely. I thought the Sherrock bubble had burst and she and the PDC would benefit from time off.
Next year, don't be surprised if they have to expand to four places next when Greaves, Suzuki and Ashton qualify.

Good decision.
Re: Fallon Sherrock given a World Championship Spot
I could forgive the blatent favouritism if she had been playing decent recently, but she has been utter tripe. Not going to help her or Porters cause if she gets white washed by a random floor jobber.

Low to mid 80s average is more than enough to win in the early rounds at this bloated event.

As a Pro Tour qualifier, but much less likely for one of the 32 other qualifiers.Black Velvet wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:52 pmLow to mid 80s average is more than enough to win in the early rounds at this bloated event.

No. Have a look at James Wade’s quarter final average last year.1205 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 3:01 pmAs a Pro Tour qualifier, but much less likely for one of the 32 other qualifiers.Black Velvet wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:52 pmLow to mid 80s average is more than enough to win in the early rounds at this bloated event.

Re: Fallon Sherrock given a World Championship Spot
I watched the Porter interview recently saying they had ‘options’ and the players ‘knew what they had to do.’ It was clearly complete cobblers wasn’t it?

Yep. The clue was that Matt Porter was speaking.
It was never in doubt. Sky wanted her there, they had probably already done their 'glass ceiling' previews.

I think they meant 2nd round. That was shit.ChrisW wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 4:20 pmWhat was it?Black Velvet wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 3:28 pmNo.
But it was also an exception. Mid-80s as a Pro Tour qualifier still has a good chance of winning. As a "65-96" not so much. The outside qualifiers who won their games averaged in the high-80s.
Sherrock was a little unfortunate last year to play one of the better players in Beaton. But, in the 2020 Worlds she drew Evetts, so it's balanced out so far.

No. Wade had a mid 80s average in the quarter final. Where he whitewashed his opponent.
