Re: Who are you backing for Boltons UK open
Will be keeping an eye out for all the forum lads, hoping they have good runs in the event.
I think the Welsh boys Webster, Bates, Burnett and Atwood are going to cause some damage and I think one of them could well go deep into the latter stages.
Also hoping Ronnie Baxter has a good event.

Jabba's time to break the big time methinks.
The year long top quality darts on the tour are gonna come to fruition, maybe not a winner but expect a good run from Jabba.

There is a rumour circulating on another forum that Barney may be offered a Sky wild card for Bolton, has anyone heard anything about this?

Would surely make a mockery of the event?nikkiboy wrote:There is a rumour circulating on another forum that Barney may be offered a Sky wild card for Bolton, has anyone heard anything about this?

Sky would like that no doubt , so would many viewers so it would make sense...but for the integrity of the event and the PDPA members who have travelled the country to try and qualify then it cannot happen and it should not happen
Re: Who are you backing for Boltons UK open
I could definately see this happening, with Barnevelds recent personal problems being cited as a legitimate reason for the decision to offer him the wild card. (basically due to him not being able to attend the required amount of qualifiers)
I do hope not though, as the UK Open would certainly (as trotter says) lose its integrity and make a mockery of the whole qualifying system for Bolton.
Definately would cause some controversy if nikkiboys sources are correct.

No way a wildcard should be given, and I'm sure it won't.
Would love to see Webby and Anderson go a long way in the UK open.

Well I'm not going then. Don't care who wins it now either, makes a mockery of the whole event. Jim will win it next year I think.jointer wrote:unfortunately Jim won't be thereSpud180 wrote:Jim Mckevitt. Hes due to win a leg at some point.

Re: Who are you backing for Boltons UK open
Osborne does well in this but his form hasn't been great on the floor recently.
My current shortlist is:
Mark Webster
Simon Whitlock
Mark Walsh
Wes Newton
All four are in great form on the floor which is a similiar set up and similar format to the UK Open. All four are also well used to the TV stage as well if/when they will play on it in Bolton.
No bookmakers have prices up yet.
