Not if it's a shithole like Preston or Bridlington.
The WMC in the afternoon is great, if we just met up for the darts it wouldn't be the same.

Makes you wonder how many of the current patrons would think the same.

Just announce Lakeside for God's sake . You are not going to get TV BDO so just accept the lower sponsorship and prize money and get on with it so at least it will look good streamed with a full house.

Won't go to Preston or Bridlington because they are "shitholes", but will happily attend The Lakeside Country Club :?

Clearly running around trying to find TV first, all the time the clock ticks and less tickets will be sold as a result.
Ginge isn't about time you stopped your gossiping and let the professionals get on with it.
Has Barry Hearn taken over the negotiations then?

I see we are back to talking about why the indigo at the o2 would be the perfect venue for the worlds and “a Venue deal, sponsorship and partners could be sorted within a week”

For a man who wrote so much stuff about how he hated the board for banning him unfairly he’s desperate to work for them again

Sponsorship with who? Which sane person or company is going to whack £330k into an 9 day event which isnt on mainstream television as it stands and isnt likely to be come January?

Hes talking out of his arse.

The only logical answer as to why he wants to work with the board again is that he thinks there's a drink in it for him. At the end of the day, he's a businessman.
However the notion that he could get it on at the Indigo and not have it lose money is looking more and more fanciful by the day. The idea he could get the lot done and dusted by the end of the week is Warren Brown-esque in it's delusion.

Asking the Lakeside regulars to traipse to London and weigh out for hotel prices there for the duration is not going to go down well.
That being said, at some point they will have to move away. Hopefully by then, their stock will have improved, maybe have a TV deal and decent sponsor(s).
The current prize payout structure is not close to being sustainable without any of that.

Why? Lakeside is the perfect venue for darts.

Its not going to be there forever though. At some point the bulldozers will be moving in, folly to think otherwise.
