But is it true that the CEO of the BDO is going to pay more pennies out than he promised to the players for the Worlds??

If so this is great news for the players

But can I ask you this, why would the board put the players through that sort of Anxieties

One minute he hasn’t got no money and he told me on finals day the BDO is over it’s finished and then this

Has he used finances from future sponsors ??

Either way why would you treat the players and the national press with such disrespect during the Worlds

Surely any potential sponsor would be scared.

Also why would sponsors put in when the BDO Worlds and Masters are not sanctioned by the World Darts Governing Body

What sort of "World class business genius and master tactical negotiator" schedules a load of meetings with his venues, broadcast partners, and potential future sponsors (yes, I know) on the day after he knew he was going to default on paying the prize money to the players?
You know, the greatly reduced prize money that has been subject of ridicule in the media (social and traditional) for a month now? The prize money that players have been openly admitting they don't think they'll see?

He must know there's no way he could have kept a lid on this until tomorrow, so why schedule his really important meetings for today?

It doesn't exactly improve his leverage in any negotiations.

This obviously assumes there are any meetings, and this isn't all an elaborate hoax to buy himself more time. His equivalent of hiding behind the sofa whilst an irate Welshman in a blue jacket shouts abuse through his letterbox, if you will.

But if he really has scheduled all these meetings for today, then he either genuinely believed the players would be paid by now, or he can't strategically think one move ahead.

Either way, he's proved himself to be an even bigger cretin than I realised.

It's all over social media, the Metro have grabbed it. It's a safe bet the lad from the Currant Bun who has an axe to grind will churn something out by this afternoon.

If they've gone into these meetings without knowing yesterday was pay day, or then not bothering to check if anyone got their money this morning, then they're bigger fools than the man they're meeting.
