In this column on DartsNews, we regularly reminisce about a 'forgotten darts player' from the past. Today is the turn of John MaGowan who proved there is no age limit on still playing at the highest level as he celebrated some of his best success after his 60th birthday.

''I think I can look back on the past season with satisfaction'', says the German in an interview with Dartsnews.de. "I have participated in all the tournaments I could qualify for and I have had some good performances. Of course I could have done better here and there, but that is something I can work on."

Raman mainly focused on WDF tour last year. "My goal at the beginning of the year was to be among the direct seeded players for the 2022 World Championship at Lakeside. When I won the first tournament in Selsey, I became number one on the world ranking list and of course I didn't want to give up that position", Raman said in conversation with Dartsnews.com.

"Yet I have not hesitated for a second to participate in Q-school. My main goal is still to enter the professional circuit of the PDC. If it doesn't work out this year, the World Championship is something I can use to make it a successful year. Besides that the focus will be on the Challenge Tour and the European Tour, with the Modus Live League as an extra. The WDF Tour I will then most likely not participate fully anymore."
Modus now higher priority than Lakeside 2023.

My thoughts are that if he ends up winning Lakeside, someone had better go with "Raman Reigns" as the headline.

I think what he was actually saying is that England is the only place with guaranteed darts money right now.ChrisW wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 2:20 pm "Yet I have not hesitated for a second to participate in Q-school. Jochen Graudenz has been making a name for himself for some time now as he is one of the top players on the SDC Tour alongside Stefan Bellmont and Marcel Walpen.
"Darts is a really dirty sport", Graudenz opens the interview with dartsnews.de. "If you want to reach the top you have 70 percent of the top stars who are alcoholics.

At the last minute, Noa-Lynn van Leuven became the second Dutch player to qualify for the Women's World Matchplay, the PDC's biggest women's tournament. For the first time there are two Dutch ladies competing in that tournament, but that is not the only milestone that was achieved.
In fact, Van Leuven is the first trans woman to qualify for a television tournament in the PDC. She talks about that in an extensive interview with Dartsnews.com.
