Fantastic show. Dwight Schrute is one of the best comedy characters ever.

Tried it twice. Both times couldn't finish it.
Why Yanks need to rewrite good comedy is beyond me.

First episode is a blatant facsimile of the uk show. The best is great. Goes downhill once Carrell leaves after series 7 but still has it moments thereafter

You’re better off starting at season 2.

Ah yes, the Chris Rock speech! Kelly is a completely different character in that one.

I think GoT is great, but not for everyone. Also takes a while to warm up, definitely a grower.

Succession is the best series on telly for years, possibly ever. Get her watched

Game of thrones was the best television series right up until the final season where they royally cocked it up.

Just finished Succession.

Enjoyed it, but not in the exalted terms that you describe it. I thought the piano theme music was excellent, though.

More string based than piano but yes a good intro.

DavidOwen67 wrote: Thu Dec 03, 2020 8:28 pm Genuine question coming up.

I've not seen 1 second of Game of Thrones as it strikes me that it's just a big load of Dungeons and Dragons with tits for the gamer generation.
However, I'm looking for something to binge watch of the coming festive season and am toying with moving onto this after Sons of Anarchy.

In the last couple of years I've discovered some gems like Life on Mars that I somehow avoided and maybe my cyicism is preventing from watching some good TV.

So here's the question - GoT - worth watching, or a load of old sockwank?

Your opinions are genuinely sought.
GoT is a good watch, a bir farcical but packed with plot twists and some great actors.

Have a look at Justified with Timothy Olyphant, sex and drugs and Country music.
Been watching Justified on Amazon based on your recommendation, done almost the first 3 series. A damn good watch.
