Raymond van Barneveld retained his title with another final set tiebreaker, this time against Ronnie Baxter and in doing so became only the second man to retain the title since Eric Bristow.
The other main highlight of the event was an epic quarter-final slugfest between Martin Adams and Chris Mason which featured an incredible 29 maximums with Mason completing a fine comeback to edge home in the final set.
