2000 BDO World Darts Championship

Ted Hankey became the first BDO World champion of the new millenium when he eclipsed Ronnie Baxter 6 sets to 0 in a 46 minute final, taking the crown with a memorable 170 checkout.
The Count clocked up a record 48 maximums en route including 22 against Chris Mason in the semi-final with Mason contributing 16 of his own in a titanic struggle that is regarded as one of the finest matches ever played on television. The 38 maximums hit in total in this match is a long standing world record for a 9 set match.
