Re: The now Unofficial and Unsanctioned BDO "Worlds" Tickets 2020 Updates
So have re done the seeding then or had just taken her places in draw
Re: The now Unofficial and Unsanctioned BDO "Worlds" Tickets 2020 Updates
Who knows, probably someone will get up on stage on the first day live on tv and announce a re-draw to a chorus of boos

More accessible, absolutely trueSally wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 7:47 am I think that the public also liked the fact that they could either stay at the same hotel as the players at Lakeside, and mingle with them in the evenings, or at least go in the hotel bar after the show and see them. This has been taken away from them, and therefore going elsewhere is getting less value for money.
Someone once said that this was another reason that BDO as opposed to PDC ticket sales were always low.....that people could see BDO players at comps and in hotels, whereas they never got to meet the likes of MVG.
However that was better years ago when household names played in the event. Most of the players this year the casual fan has hardly heard of.

Or go and ask, only the top 16, if they want a redraw.

And one thing more, Trina and Fallon are still in the drawsheets on the BDO site. Fallon was only a few days ago but Trina jumped off 11.12

Re: The now Unofficial and Unsanctioned BDO "Worlds" Tickets 2020 Updates
Was bored so priced up what it would cost to go Thurs, cant recall exact prices but much cheaper than I thought it would be.
Coach from Liverpool if you shop around and leave at 5.30am ish and get back around 10pm day after was about £20 return.
Tickets were £25 ish so £50 for the day.
Travelodge on Docklands a 10 min walk, added wifi and breakfast plus late checkout 12pm was £43.
Say £80 for food, drinks etc its £200 roughly, not to bad.
Obviously cheaper per day if a few go sharing room costs, no travel for extra days. I would think if 2 went it would cost each about £130 a day extra. So £300 for 2 days if your clever and look around

The tickets and costs are not horrendous for a top sporting event at all... The problem is that its no longer a top sporting event... It has no appeal to a general sports fan or casual darts fan to actually attend.. The people who may attend are generally not hugely well off and it comes right after the most expensive time of the year when people who may be tempted haven't got the money to do so..
The whole event has become a non entity to be honest

I have said for a while its part that, people attended Lakeside due to habit so time of year mattered not a jot. However moving it meant losing 80% of regulars whilst trying to bring in new ones as you say at the worse time of the year.trotter01 wrote:The tickets and costs are not horrendous for a top sporting event at all... I cannot for the life of me think why anoyone thought moving it was a good idea. Des is to blame but also everyone who let him do it is equally responsible.

Re: The now Unofficial and Unsanctioned BDO
Given that Potter will not last forever, the BDO was always going to have to move at some point. The mistake was moving without sponsorship in place and with no idea how to market or price the event. It should have stayed at Lakeside until that was sorted out.The Crusader wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 2:27 pmI have said for a while its part that, people attended Lakeside due to habit so time of year mattered not a jot. I can see why he did it - the BDO we now know has been losing cash on a monthly basis for years, and Lakeside brought in absolutely nothing to the BDO in terms of revenue. The move gave them the chance of generating cash. If they had sponsorship in place then the £200,000 plus in ticket sales would be pure profit. The biggest issue is sponsorship, with no sponsorship in place ticket sales become crucial.
Totally stupid to bet your prize money on selling tickets!
