Come on now. You have been saying for weeks on here everyone needs to take this virus seriously so what do you genuinely think of Des' actions here?
Hes a cretin. This is not new news.

People need to make their own decisions though. Anyone following his advice given you cant move for news on what's happening in spain is a moron.

Were you just as outraged that the players championship event went ahead today? Or do you just have complete and total faith that the government of each country is making the right calls?
In fairness Mark (given you have no issue with me being authorative in using your real first name, as the members of the forum have no idea of your identity), there is a major difference between an event being held behind closed doors in a shit hole town in Yorkshire, and one being held in a holiday complex in a country in lockdown, due to the effects of the current pandemic.
I am sure you have been to at least one these events. They dont bolt the doors shut in the darts room, it's just a big hall in a leisure centre and if you leave that room you often see the darters wandering around the complex and coming into contact with the general public. And there will probably be more people at the Players championship than at torre. So the only difference is the country where the event is taking place really. But it's a global pandemic and continent wide.

229 scientists from across all major universities have written to our government to complain that Johnsons plan to just let everyone get it to become immune is dangerous and against all their advice. So that brings me back to the question of whether people just just trust their government as the ones making the correct decision? Are the UK correct and also Spain correct?

Well no the only difference is one government has locked their country down and the other one hasnt, whether you agree with either action or not.

If it's a 15 day lockdown as reports are suggesting, does that mean des, paula and a lot of their friends will effectively be stuck in a hotel for a fortnight with no hope of getting back and nothing open to break the monotony?

Someone please get some tv cameras there, this has solid reality show train wreck potential.

Hopefully this reduces holiday prices as the paranoid stay at home and the rest of us can crack on with life.

As for the Man City game, another ridiculous overreaction.

[British holidaymakers and students in Spain are desperately trying to return home before the country's announces the most severe coronavirus measures in Europe. A 15-day national lockdown is expected to come into effect on Sunday at 8am, with all public transport cut back and people ordered to stay at home other than to buy essential food or medicine. Earlier, police in Benidorm had run-ins with Brits as they tried to disperse large groups who had spent much of the day drinking take-away alcohol on the streets]

did I read 30 notes a day for unlimited branded drinks - could get messy if its just tea, coffee and juice on offer, for a fortnight

They won't allow you to chuck down 5 bottles anymore before you board though. Just saying.

Can see Norwegian going bust early next week. They are sinking under billions of debt and were already laying off over 50% of staff unpaid. Final straw almost certainly Trump’s ban on UK flights from Monday night. They make a large chunk of their money on their Gatwick to US flights.

“Currently in Torremolinos out enjoying the evening when the police came in shouting and screaming brandishing batons - telling people to go home or their hotel. People scared and crying. Totally unacceptable behaviour - what has the world come to”

The UK FCO now advises against all but essential travel to the whole of Spain... let those words sink in because it is completely astonishing (but required).

This is a get out for everyone. It is the trigger for insurance payouts.

I work in the aviation industry. It is in total chaos right now. I got out of the Netherlands late on Friday; both Schiphol and Luton airports were completely dead. In arrivals, there were more immigration agents than people to inspect. As for airlines surviving... some airlines are more robust than what they're letting on (*cough* BA *cough*). They are not letting a good crisis go to waste, shall we say. Norwegian were lucky to get through last weekend. Virgin have virtually no where to fly right now. easyJet, TUI and Jet2 also have no route network right now, but they are profitable companies.

This is the biggest global crisis since WW2.
